Shannon Jenkins is a wife and mom of three beautiful daughters. During the pandemic, Shannon and her daughters began reviewing children’s books. In the midst of reviewing some amazing books, Shannon thought it would be impactful for the books to be on one platform and to be shared with the masses. Thus, the Black Children’s Books Read Aloud YouTube channel was created as a platform that could be a resource to parents and teachers as well as allow Black children to see themselves represented in a variety of areas. Most importantly, the platform has had the privilege to shine a light on talented Black authors.
